LAHORE: (Thursday, May 29, 2025): A delegation from Kazakhstan led by His Excellency Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan Mr. Yerzhan Kistafin accompanied by Chairperson of Board / Rector of Astana Medical University, Kazakhstan, Mrs. Anar Akylbekovna visited Punjab University and met Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Ali here on Thursday. On this occasion, PU Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Mehmood deans of various faculties, Director External Linkages Prof Dr Yaamina Salman, Director General SAES Dr Rehan Sadiq and others were present. During the visit both sides discussed potential collaborations in student and faculty exchange programs and explore collaborative research opportunities. Mrs. Anar proposed to establish joint collaborations with leading universities in Kazakhstan in all fields, especially in the field of health sciences. PU VC Prof Dr Muhammad Ali expressed his enthusiasm for strengthening the partnership with universities in Kazakhstan and highlighted the significance to promote cultural relations between two countries. He emphasized the need for greater mobility of students and faculty to broaden horizons and promote innovation. The Kazakh delegation also expressed their keen interest in expanding cooperation with PU and assured their support towards achieving the shared goals in future.
